Eating pork isn't wrong but there might be circumstances where it would be best not to eat it. An evangelist or missionary who was working among Jews or Muslims might find it advisable to abstain from pork to avoid offending the people whom he was trying to reach.
Paul continued to follow the Old Testament laws so he could effectively preach the gospel to the Jews.
