Sectarian division has been, from early on in the Body of Christ, a serious issue we deal with. While we cannot expect too great a uniformity in the Body due to cultural issues, we can, however, expect a uniformity in core doctrinal issues. By discussing the doctrinal differences we see in the Body of Christ I am confident that the sincere and honest Student of Christian Doctrine will learn the necessity of conforming to what the Word of God teaches, and as we all do this, we fulfill the expectation of God in being one in mind and focus.
All are welcome to present or challenge Doctrinal Distinctives they have either grown up believing or have come to understand through their personal study, but all will also be held accountable to one standard, that is...the Word of God. All presentations must have a Biblical support, meaning, if you believe something is true, show where in Scripture your belief is justified.
And folks, we are dealing with the most controversial issues man has before him, so let's remember that feelings can be hurt, and emotions elevated. If we keep in mind that we will never get through to someone we insult, and that edification of the Body is the goal, rather than personal satisfaction at being right, we will be more effective witnesses and teachers.
