Our mission here is to better equip those who have a heart for missions and witnessing, by both learning God's Word better as well as learning how to interact with both those of similar belief and those we disagree with.
All are welcome here and we expect, regardless of belief or unbelief, for behavior to be civil and courteous. We also suggest that if you are not used to debate that you prepare yourself with self-control being a primary goal. Often debate and discussion can get emotional, but remember, if you maintain self control you will not allow someone else to control your response/s. When we respond with emotion we relinquish self control and fall under the control of someone else. Understand that it is unlikely everyone is going to agree with everything you believe, so if you remember that then it is less likely that your response/s will be emotional, and more likely your responses will stay focused on your personal goal, whatever that may be. I will say that usually the goal for most is to promote the beliefs that individual has embraced, and because most of us cannot divorce ourselves from that underlying and egotistical belief that we have it right, lol, it is a similar goal we all share. We challenge ourselves by not isolating ourselves nor insulating ourselves from views that may differ from ours, but move headlong into opposing views to do what we must always do first, which is to examine ourselves and our beliefs before we ever enter into the arena of discussion and debate.
And we might sometimes be forced to admit to our antagonists..."The beam in my eye is bigger than yours, so nyaah!" lol
So while we take Theological Debate and Defense very seriously here, we keep a focus on the Lord rather than ourselves. He it is that is always right, not we.
I have only two words for those that might fall into the error of responding with emotion..."Lighten Up." Trust me, you'll feel better if you take God's Word more seriously than you take yourself.
