If you would like to add a link and embed it in the text, simply highlight the text you want the link to be, hit the
"LINK" prompt (looks like a globe/world with a page to the right of it; if you hold your cursor on the prompts it will tell you what it is) and there will be two lines that need to be filled out.
Finding, copying, and pasting the URL:
If you have highlighted the text you want the link to be in then it should already be in the top line, leave that alone (this line will be marked "TEXT:"). In the line below it, marked "URL:," you will see "http:," delete this and fill in the line with the code from the page you want to use as a link. If you look at the top left portion of your monitor, you will see the code for the page you are currently on. The URL can be copied simply by right clicking your cursor on the URL of the page you want to copy, then left-click on "COPY" (which should appear in a box when you right-click on the URL). Once you have saved the information by doing this you are ready to paste it into the post you are working on.
So we begin by securing the URL of the page we want to embed in the text, then, in the post we are working on, we highlight the text we want to embed the URL in, then we hit the "LINK" prompt. The box with two lines appears, we delete what is in the lower box (Http), and then right-click in that box, then hit "PASTE." Then hit "CREATE LINK" (also in the box.
That's all there is to it.
Some functions differ between forums, and usually each function can be changed if you add "=" after the code prompt, such as (SIZE) becomes (SIZE=3) which is followed by (/SIZE) at the end of what you are changing size on. This same thing can be done with a URL code on many forums, where (URL) at the beginning can be changed to (URL=inserted URL from page we want to embed). For this example I have changed the brackets [ ] to parentheses ( ) so the code is disabled (if I used brackets they would disappear).
